Broaden your horizon - learn from international experts from a variety of medical disciplines who care for patients with leg/foot tissue loss.
Hold the date for the ilegx 2010 summit, October 16-17, 2010 at imperial College London, UK. The scientific programme covers all causes of vascular and non-vascular leg/foot tissue loss in a systematic way. The two day long summit is structured into three main topics: all-encompassing diagnosis, management today and tomorrow, successful implementation.
Two parallel scientific tracks: Acute and Community care
For the first time in 2010 will the scientific programme include two parallel tracks, an acute and an community track to tailor the education to the distinct medical audiences. The audiences will come together through-out the day to review a number of recorded patient cases, which will be discussed with interdisciplinary expert panels.
"To bridge the gap between community and acute care it is necessary to learn from eachother while at the same time broadening our own horizons for the current best approach in leg/foot tissue loss."
Thought provoking rapid-fire lectures
The rapid-fire, thought provoking lectures, delivered by international experts in leg/foot tissue loss, come in 10 minutes' spurts at ilegx. Before the audience's mind starts to wander, another speaker will take the stage.
"I think the allure of ilegx is that you learn a heck of a lot of things about different approaches in a short amount of time. I took a lot of inspiration from concepts which have nothing to do with what I narrowly focus on in my professional life."
Frequent Panel Discussions link ideas and listeners
The frequent panel discussions provide a sufficiently varied clash of opinion and presentation of facts to give even quiet members in the audience a feeling of vicarious participation. At ilegx, delegates can find the speakers during the breaks or join them at the 'Meet the Faculty Reception', to continue the conversation.
"I liked that I could discuss their thoughts with them in the panel discussions, being addressed personally drove the point home even more."
Challenging constructive debates
Medicine at its core is not reflective, not algorithmic, not black and white. To maximise the learning experience, opposing medical approaches challenge each others' ideas, rationale and/or conclusion in a constructive way. The ilegx debates invite the audience to explore, challenge and test their own ideas and conclusions.
Insights from a variety of medical disciplines - a uniquely interdisciplinary faculty
"You could see it in the speakers face that they are passionate about their topic."
